ACC Nursery in Under Construction
Arthur Christian Church wants you to know that we love the sound of babies crying! This may sound odd to some, but with the sound of babies is the assurance of life in the church. Our children are the future of our country and our congregation.
I remember the days of having little ones. Melody and I use to worry about keeping them quiet, so we wouldn't disrupt others in the service. I remember the anxiety that would build in our mind as our little ones would cry, speak out, or sometimes just act like a kid. We would instinctively worry about what everyone else was thinking about us. Let us all remember that kids are kids! Certainly, we want to teach them as they grow how to behave but we as a church also understand that it takes a village to raise our children.
I know as a parent, just making it to church can be an ordeal. From wrestling to get the kids up and dressed, to making it to church on time is nothing short of a battle somedays. We as a church family want you to know that we are here to help. The church will be making some changes in June that should help all our parents.
What will these changes look like? In short, here are a few changes coming soon:
- The nursery will be moved to the fellowship hall and be updated.
- We will be bringing back Children's Church. This is a group of planned services designed for our kids ages newborn to 12 years of age.
- The church will be instituting an accountability system for our children. All children under the age of 13 who will attend Children's Church or the nursery will be checked in at the fellowship hall. Parents will need to check children out after service. In addition, we will maintain a method of contacting parents in church during specific needs.
- The church will be installing a fence around a portion of the fellowship hall to provide another level of protection for kids when playing outside.
What do we need from you? Patience and assistance. With any change there are always bugs which must be worked out. Please be patient as our church implements the new systems. In addition, we need your help. To provide adequate supervision and service for our children, we need parent volunteers. Katie Harris will be contacting all parents about scheduling volunteers to help with our children's services. This will likely be one Sunday every 6 - 8 weeks depending on participation. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
